ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Wakatobi Regency, Southeast Sulawesi is trusted to host the 15th annual international conference of the Southeast Asian Biosphere Reserves Network (SeaBRnet).
“Wakatobi Regency will be visited by hundreds of representatives of biosphere countries in Asia on April 30-May 2 2024. Previously, the Southeast Asian Biosphere Reserve Association meeting took place in Kota Kinabalu, Sarawak, Malaysia,” said Wakatobi Regent, Haliana, quoted Friday, April 26 2024.
Haliana said that 100 people would be invited to attend this conference, plus 300 representatives of biosphere reserves in Indonesia.
“We are grateful because we have been given great trust to host it,” he said.
On the other hand, this conference is also a momentum to introduce tourist destinations and the culture of the Wakatobi community.
The local government will introduce the traditions of the Bajo tribe in Wakatobi, namely the Mola traditional tradition, to welcome participants from abroad.
Apart from that, there is a traditional Kabuenga (swing) performance, which is usually used to welcome guests who come to Wakatobi Regency. (ATN)
